we are getting one for my dad for fathers day.

its gotta be atleast 4 inche screen. have handsfree blue tooth system, and be between 200-300. i found a tomtom one for 140ish but i dunno nothing about what brand is good and reliable and all that...

I don't understand the appeal of a portable GPS being a bluetooth speakerphone. It's not like it's tied into you car stereo. I've used that feature on my GPS a grand total of 0 times.

garmin nuvi works good for me. i just one of the cheaper models, 6 million preloaded things i was happy.

I like my Navigon 2100. The 2100 Max and 7100 have 4"+ screens

Pay attention to the resolution. I have an HP iPAQ 310 which is 4.3" with 800x480 resolution. Everything is nice and crisp and legible. Cheaper options will be a similar size but 480x272 or even worse 320x240.
