So, on the way into work this AM I saw a bumper sticker that said the following (or something close):
I can't say that I agree 100% (we most definitely need to defend ourselves), but it really got me thinking. It is really sad that our huge deficit is in large part due to over-spending on war, yet our school system is producing idiots that would have greatly benefited from more education financing. If we're already spending too much, the least we can do is educate our children!

BUT

the govt skrimped on education long before this war came along, the war just made the gap appear that much bigger. not saying its right or wrong, just saying that its been a problem for a long time
