Microsoft lied to me
Yesterday morning I had an automatic update notification for XP SP3. So I clicked "update" and the window disappeared. Nothing happened since.

It produces an error asking me to download the genuine xp verification, i click download, then it produces an error.

it was xp sp3.
it did the same on my system too.
downloaded the full install.... and that failed with an internal error.

Perhaps they rescinded the package until further notice?
