what is the benefit of updating to SP3? Can someone who doesn't pass the genuine advantage check upgrade without messing stuff up?
They may have already withdrawn it. DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE!!! I've already heard multiple reports across the 'net and from IT colleagues who have reported that all too often, XP/SP3 leaves their PCs in continuous reboot cycles...some can't even start the thing in safe mode to remove SP3. I've already told all the users I manage to NOT install it on their own, and it's blocked on my WSUS server.
If you don't pass Genuine Advantage, you will be allowed only critical and security updates...nothing else.
