yea thinkpads are not that bad.

one of the things i love the most about my ibm is the thinkpad software suite ... the connectivity and all the other shit. its awesome utilities.

yup, and the utilities aren't resource hogs. Also it doesn't come loaded with bullshit.

i've had an hp for like three years. never had any problems with it, until i spilled a gin and tonic on it, but it still works, just has a few sticky keys

time for a new laptop this summer hopefully.

they dont say IBM on the computer anymore. They still bear the Thinkpad name, maybe that is what you are thinking of.

Lenovo was making the Thinkpads for a few years before they officially became the Lenovo Thinkpad.

IBM or Dell. I've had several IBM Thinkpads and 1 dell, but bang for the buck, Dell all the way....and here is where:
1. Widescreen
2. More punch for less
3. Better battery life

Currently I'm running a Dell D830 and love it.
