I have to vent a little
Not that anyone gives a shit but I gotta share my wonderful dining experience from last night.
So yesterday my neighbor comes over and invites the kids and I to join his family for a b-day dinner for his now 7 yr old daughter and we accept of course. We go to this nice little sports bar/restaurant and are meeting his GFs family there as well so there is like 10 of us at the table, the breakdown is simple 4 under 10 yrs old, 1 teenager, 4 adults and a senior citizen.
So when we get there we all grab a seat and my friends gf decides to sit next to her grandmother to keep her from grabbing my leg (grandma wants me...long story and kinda weird but she hits on me a lot). So I am sitting between my friend and his gf and he takes exception to her sitting by grandma. Being polite I ask if he wants to trade me chairs and he says, "don't worry about it".
So that should be the end of it right?...nope he makes some rude comment in less than 5 minutes and I look over at him and tell him not to start with it since it's his kids bday. No such luck as he keeps popping comments and shots off all evening as I play Switzerland between them.
Now this guy is a good friend and is 30 years old so I am not going to be the one to start fighting with him and calling him childish...I don't need a fistfight in front of the kids, so I bite my tongue and watch the games on tv intently.
So my youngest has to go hit the bathroom and the tension is killing me so I get up and walk her to the bathroom and hang out till she's done. when I come back my oldest is looking kind of disturbed and I notice some food scattered on the ground. I just figured the kids made a messs or something. My oldest later informs me that right after I left the table he threw fries and other food at his gf...uhhh...wtf???
He also proceeded to flip off his gf in front of my kids 3 different times.
So I am not saying I am the most mature adult in the world but is this common behaviour among adults? If so then I must have missed the briefing on how to act like an adult somewhere and am sorely dissappointed in humans in general.

Just a dick in general really, it's part of why I try to avoid going out to eat with them as much as possible. Really tough too because he has been a good friend of mine for the last couple years now.

Oh I wanted to believe me.
he stopped over a little later and was real quiet and left pretty quickly, so I hope he got the point when I wouldn't look up from my laptop to hold a decent convo with him.
I really couldn't say much because the kids were right there as well, but believe me we are gonna have a chat about the bullshit today for sure.
