quite the opposite actually I was able to master it in the arcade on 5 bucks worth of quarters.

As said the only skill is if you can mash the buttons fast enough really, not saying there isn't a bit more to it but not enough to make it a "great" game at all.

Killer Instinct and MK3 were button mashing games, SFII was great how people established the combo system and so forth.......paving the long long road to this day. I can't wait til HD.

i beg to differ. ive been in SF tournaments, and to accomplish this is no easy "mash of buttons" task

SFII was no way a button masher. Even MKII took quite a bit of skill. Air juggles + counters = lots of work.

Super Smash Bros is the epitome of what Nightshade is talking about.
