I know...I want them really bad, but nobody has them...and I'm tired of waiting.

no modding, just maintenance.

i just replaced the pass-side front wheel bearing (2nd time), power steering pipe (it was leaking), and alternator, all this weekend.

i'm a wee bit tired.

From searching online it looks like there's some new version called Direzza Sport Z1 "Star Spec" which is supposed to be better.

The hot tires among my fellow Miata idiots are Bridgestone RE-01R, Hankook RS-2, Falken RT-615, Yokohama AD07 and Toyo R1R. I've got a set of 'kooks going on in a week or two (whenever my damned rims get here).

All the reviews I have seen for them, people say they are crazy good. Like fatbooty said, it looks like they already have a new version of it out...from what I understand, the Z1 replaced another tire, and wasn't out for very long.

They don't offer many sizes in the star spec yet. My size is listed on the dunlop site, but not on Tire Rack yet...and Discount doesn't even have the tire yet.

I may just settle for the RT615.

Yeap. A wrist pin spiral lock came out of one of my pistons because it only had one per side vs the usual two per side. Scored up my 4th cylinder wall and spun a rod bearing. So I'm throwing together a stock LSVTEC to last me one more season. Gonna boost the hell out of it.

Then I'm doing a supra swaped SC300 starting in August.

I love racing and one day I'm going to open a R&D company for racing parts.
