Default Networking Crew v.weird probs

Ok, so I was having the slow internets problem last week, where pages wouldn't load, blah blah. I did an internet speed test while having the problems, and it was under 1mbps...9xx kbps. I then hooked my computer up directly to the cable modem (bypassing WRT54G linksys router), and did another test....16.x mbps. When I had originally bypassed the router, I was still having load problems....now I am not. So, I did a hard reset of the router....everything was fine for a few days. Last night, I got the slow internet thing again. I did another hard reset, and it works fine. Any ideas to why this is happening? I'm dumbfounded. I'd prefer to not have to reset the router every few days, and just have the shit work.

What version is your router? Does it have the latest firmware?

Seems like you have a reoccurring issue.

I don't know if it has the latest firmware...but I don't understand why it would work fine forever until now on the firmware it has. :dunno:

Unplug your router, plug back in.

Been done many times with no change...all that helps is a hard reset.

Download, make sure you are doing this from a computer that's wired to router, go into the router settings, update firmware
