Woman Goes for Leg Operation, Gets New Anus Instead

A German retiree is taking a hospital to court after she went in for a leg operation and got a new anus instead, the Daily Telegraph is reporting.

The woman woke up to find she had been mixed up with another patient suffering from incontinence who was to have surgery on her sphincter.

WTF.

The termilology for the two places aren't even close.

If they mixed up something like Illium and Ileum it would be understandable but there's no excuse for that.

my fantasy baseball league drafted today. I'm not too pleased with by 2nd base situation and was looking for a replacement.

Read the player's note:

The charts for the two operations probably just got switched, and they didn't verify the person's identity. That's why they have all hospital patients here in the US wear a wristband with their name/info on it, and all docs & nurses are supposed to make sure the wristband matches the chart before they do any procedures. I'm sure Germany has something similar in place, but sometimes people get lazy.
