Default Laptop gurus

I have a dell laptop that I need to fix. I had to replace the hd so I got a new one. Tried to install windows but got this SCSI or something error but I'm going to worry about later.
I moved the laptop to the other side of my desk and now when I try and turn it on, I get 3 flashing LEDs (num lock, caps lock, and scroll lock) with it shutting down after. What's going on? bad mobo?

dell inspiron 600m

I'd remove the battery and try again.

I googled lots and someone says the motherboard was loose on one someone fixed. I looked closely at the case and there is a lot of cracked plastic lol

is it ok to use crazy glue or something to hold that middle thing down? duct tape at the top doesn't work

I have another laptop here I need to fix, thought it needed a new bulb...
got the new bulb and soldered the wires, but it still doesn't work. Took the inverter out and see that it's fucked up. A joint off of the main connector got fried and shit got a little heated... it even made the metal sheet behind it get heated.

would it be safe to just reconnect the joint that came out?
need pics?
