I lived through one 36" snowfall and several 20-30" snowfalls when I was in Syracuse. I don't once recall hearing about mass amounts of people taking the day off, and the streets were still packed with cars. Why? The city of Syracuse probably has more snowplows and a bigger snow budget than most states do.

I was running downstairs to get in the shower (i woke up late), and just as I'm getting into the shower, my roommate tells me that school is cancelled. horray for no classes.

I don't really see what the big deal is, there's probably about 2-3 new inches of snow from what I see... 28*. Oh well, i'm not complaining at all.

Congratulations to you lake effect folks in getting more snow than even places like Madison. You win the prize. :10q:

Nah I'm all good, mostly would prefer if I didn't still have work to take care of.

That's how NYC is. There is a picture somewhere of when NYC got like 6 inches and they were pansies...they XCountry Skied the streets because there was no one to plow the streets.

The only people I've seen with plows are the people in Flagstaff and anyone else living higher than 7,000ft... h: I'm not complaining, 2" paid snow days FTW
