Snowed in, can't go to work
Yay for Wisconsin weather. The office is closed. We got like 6 inches of snow overnight and we're supposed to get another 6 inches by this afternoon.
This would be all well and good except I've got a consultant from Dallas whose flight to a client in Anchorage AK left at 8 am central, and I really need to tell him about his rental car reservation that's waiting for him in Anchorage. Of course, I got the rental reservation info from the client after the consultant got on the plane. I was able to call one of my coworkers in our Florida office (they're not snowed in...) and get the guy's cell #, and his plane lands in Minneapolis at 10:30 am central, so with any luck he'll turn on his phone and I'll be able to get a hold of him while he's in Minneapolis. So much for bumming around! |
i <3 when 6 - 12 inches is considered "snowed in" :chuckles:

have you worked with consultants before? usually they know how to handle such inconveniences just fine. and they always have their cell on (when allowed) if they're on the clock.

I wish I was snowed in and didn't have work today, all we've had was rain the past few days. Lots of rain.

:werd: WTF is this crap??? 6-12 inches of snow in Syracuse is 'bloody nuisance'. 12-24 is 'drive slower'. 'Close everything!' doesn't happen until 36"+, which I saw once.
and business's never close ... hell just last week they had a visibility range of about 10 feet and everyone was still open and operating |

Worst case scenario he takes a cab to his hotel, checks his email and finds out he has a rental car waiting for him. He can just expense the cab. I like to have all the i's dotted and t's crossed with these guys, it tends to be worth it to me in repeat business. |
