wait a minute

when working with sets, you dont usually repeat numbers.

if you cannot repeat numbers, 10*9*8*7 = 5040

if you can repeat numbers.... then 10*10*10*10 = 10,000 (0000-9999)

any number can be repeated... So far we know that there are 10,000 possibilities, now how do I get excel to create each possibility?

no zeroes?... you'll have to use a formula for that.... i cant think of it at the moment. :hs:

no zeros too, you just gave me the zeros already thats y. How do I get what you did with zeroes but with all the number 0-9... Sorry if i confused you

So what I'm trying to do is find all the possible 4digit combinations that can be made from the numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9... How do I do this in excel? I need to be able to know how to get excel to do it... Thanx

i dont understand how you arent able to do that in excel already :dunno:

0000
0001
0002

highlight all 3 cells.
put your cursor at the bottom right corner of the 0002 cell, you will get a cross, pull it down and you will get it all.
