Default requesting a lower cc interest rate

Has anyone successfully done this before? I just tried with my Sears Mastercard but they said it's not negotiable.

i've heard of it working for people. usually happens when you've had the card for a long time, and have always kept up payments on it.

i dont think you will be able to do it with something like a sears card.

if you had a major like a chase, BofA, HSBC, etc you can usually work em over. consumer finance cards, nah...

I tried but it didn't get me anywhere. The customer service rep. offered to close out my account but I don't really want to do that. I just asked her for the mailing address to send in a cancellation request. I've had the card for almost 3 years so there's really no benefit to me closing it out. h:
