NOPD is asian. Asian people have this shorter clearance to the ground than your average white guy. When I'm doing pushups, I feel like I'm dropping my torso 4 ft too the ground.

It does matter, pushups are directly proportional to wingspan/reach. You're 5'7", which means your arms aren't nearly as long as mine, or probably even Phat's.
Someone who is 5'7" should NOT be complaining about how far up they have to go to do a push up.
