Default Leno, O'Brien, and Letterman return tonight

and the good parts ...
Though the writers' strike, which began Nov. 5, continues to drag on, Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants, reached an agreement Friday with the Writers Guild of America to have his show return with the usual writing staff.
But Leno -- along with Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O'Brien -- will return Wednesday night without any writers. "The Daily Show'' with Jon Stewart and "The Colbert Report,'' both of which air on CTV, are set to return on Jan. 7, also without striking writers.
Many are wondering how the hosts will fill the air time they usually reserve for opening monologues and produced skits, since union strike rules prohibit them from performing those familiar comic bits.

"Technically, Jay (Leno) can't even write his own material because he's a writer as well as a host of the show, so he has to really fly by the seat of his pants and improvise," Rechtshaffen told Canada AM Wednesday morning.
"Because actors have said and made very clear, they don't like crossing picket lines," Rechtshaffen reports. "And if that's true, then Jay could have pretty slim pickings while Dave (Letterman) gets Robin Williams kicking the show off tonight and then he'll get all the other big 'A-listers'."
So ...
Letterman has his full writing staff back, Hollywood guests will have no issues appearing on his show. The guests will not be crossing picket lines. Since these shows are promotional platforms for movies, Dave will consistently have A+ guests.

Leno and O'Brien are working without their writers, so inorder to do the show, they'll have to wing the entire thing. They cannot write their own bits because then they'll end up crossing the picket lines.

Their guests might be political figures or sports stars only.

I'm very curious to see if O'Brien is funny without his staff.

Considering O'Brien was primarily a writer on Simpsons and SNL, I don't think he'll have any problems.
