which organization is more annoying?
Do you think they're doing more harm than good?
A few of my buddies (black) and I had this discussion at work. They think the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition are setting them back quite a bit. Reasons ...
1. inability to progress forward with the slavery topic
2. inability to select the people(s) that are supposed to represent the race.
3. inability to select the topics on which the group reacts to.
To them, it's like having a constant misrepresentation. : \

as far as slavery im still on the fence
I don't hold any living person responsible for slavery.
But don't forget we are only 40 years removed from segergation in america where blacks and other minorites were subjected to:substandard education, exclusion from home ownership via restrictive redtape and redlining, or any of the mechanisms for pushing blacks or other minorities to the back of the line. we must all, as a nation, ponder the repercussions of those acts.
if you start counting from 1900 till 1965 thats a pretty good head start.
ill save the anti black crack cocaine laws for another thread

A wise person on this board once told me
that black people need to quit being minorities and second class citzens
and just be americans

FEMA, PETA,RIAA and anything Jackson or Sharpton is involved with are all equally annoying and useless.

I am not going to lie and say that slavery or the oppression wasn't a terrible thing. Nor am I goin to say that in the 60s all things were made equal. Nor am I one to say that things are still necessarily equal but most of us out here are working towards the seeing of people and not of color.
I see the people like Jesse and Sharpton as having a great idea for unity and equality, but the way they go about it is the worst possible way.
A good example is they stand behind any black person opressed based on color and color only, but when that woman and her bf were attacked by a group of young black kids and beaten badly they were as quiet as a graveyard about it. This is one of the worst double standards ever, because if other races have to answer for any crime committed on a black person that can be considered even remotley a racist crime why is it a black person isn't accountable on the same front by their own community?
I know every racist begins a comment like this with, "I'm not racist but..." but to be honest I have stopped worrying about that shit. If I hate you I hate you because you are a waste of air not because of your race, religion, or any other ism you can create....plain and simple a jackass is a jackass and should be called on it accordingly.
