A few of my buddies (black) and I had this discussion at work. They think the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition are setting them back quite a bit. Reasons ...
1. inability to progress forward with the slavery topic
2. inability to select the people(s) that are supposed to represent the race.
3. inability to select the topics on which the group reacts to.
To them, it's like having a constant misrepresentation. : \
and I agree with them on points 2 and 3
as far as slavery im still on the fence
I don't hold any living person responsible for slavery.
But don't forget we are only 40 years removed from segergation in america where blacks and other minorites were subjected to:substandard education, exclusion from home ownership via restrictive redtape and redlining, or any of the mechanisms for pushing blacks or other minorities to the back of the line. we must all, as a nation, ponder the repercussions of those acts.
if you start counting from 1900 till 1965 thats a pretty good head start.
ill save the anti black crack cocaine laws for another thread
A wise person on this board once told me
that black people need to quit being minorities and second class citzens
and just be americans
