I get that with recorded HD shows from time to time, or live shows when it is stormy out. I'd guess it has to do w/ the satellite dishes at the cable company.

i lag when i go from standard to hd channels. like dubby said all hd signals over air/cable should be max at 720p. check your box to make sure it is set for 720p/1080i (i know directv boxes you have to do this) and you should be all set.

Also, do you have your main cable line into the house split numerous times? Signal degradation will kill HD outputs.

It could be as simple as a bad HDMI cable too. : \
several HD broadcast is 1080i I would say about 50/50 in my area.

i'll bet something is converting the signal from 720p to 1080i. i prefer 720p myself over 1080i
