Get an Oppo for upscaling.
Use your PS3 for BluRay.

Seriously though, I still watch most stuff on a 25'' SD (not even flat) w/ mono sound and the damn thing doesn't even have composite a/v inputs let alone component, etc.... by your media standards I might as well be dead

$180-$225 I think. It's just not a god DVD player plain and simple. Try some other DVD's and see how they look.

Yea i'm not looking for super quality but watchin a dvd in 480i on a 47" tv makes it looks pretty choppy. :hs: Even 720p output would be fine.

Ive watched We Were Soldiers, Fast and the Furious, Talladega Nights, Top Gun, and The Guardian to name some. I have noticed a difference in them, but I can't compare it to any other upscaled video, so I can't say if it's up to those standards.
