Car problem. Please advise :)
So I know I have needed a new clutch for a while. The one I have in the WRX now is the stock one with 82,000 miles on it. Well, recently it has been pretty cold in NY. When I accelerate hard (especially after down-shifting) over 55 mph, the engine rev's up but the car doesn't accelerate. I think this may be because the clutch is slipping against the flywheel. Maybe it is too cold, or maybe it is just worn out, I don't know.
This morning I became concerned when I accelerated hard in 5th gear and it started slipping after 3,800 rpms and the CEL started flashing. After resuming normal speed, the light turned off. Any ideas? Is it the clutch for sure? Not sure if that would trigger the CEL.

That wouldn't trigger the CEL...and there's no way to know what the code was. But yes, the clutch is slipping.

I do have traction control, but that would make the ABS light go on. The tires were definitely not spinning without traction though. The CEL blinked for about 10 seconds then shut off.
Traction control would not make your ABS light come on. More than likely you had no idea that you had a TCS light and it blinked at you.
