I like Ron Paul because we share much of the same views. Based on just personal judgement of all the candidates I think he is the most honest out of all of them.

He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
NONE of which has anything to do with his qualifications to be president.

"He has never voted to raise taxes:" The ultimate red herring. If we expect certain things of our government, we will be taxed to pay for them. It's simple arithmetic which so many people fail to understand. The only way we pay less in taxes is if/when we expect less of government...and we never do. Republicans and Democrats alike continually expand the role and power of government in our lives...and any second-grader who can add can figure out that more government means more taxes. Further, anyone claiming that taxes can be cut when we're fighting a two-front war overseas and spending billions of dollars on it each month is just plain stupid and doesn't deserve the time of day, never mind my vote.

"He has never voted to raise congressional pay:" So are members of Congress immune from inflation, especially when most are maintaining two homes, one in their home state and one in Washington? Again, folks, it's simple math.

"He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year:" Grandstanding. Others do the same thing. Means absolutely nothing.

Oh, and as of today, you forgot one other entry on the list:

Takes money from white supremacists, will not return the money and refuses to denounce them or their beliefs. (Otherwise known as: One is known by the company one keeps.)
