Default New Glock v. forrealthistime

Picked up a very slightly used "sales sample" Glock 27 from Summit Gun Broker for $400. Total came to $433.57 after shipping + FFL transfer. This was a gun that Glock salesman use for demonstrations. Barrel is perfect, I'd guess it's been shot about 50 times but not cleaned. No holster marks, original Glock packaging and original paperwork was unopened.

I like it so far, but have not had a chance to go to the range yet. Stupid finals keeping me busy. I'm taking a CCW class in January and I plan on using this as my carry piece.

Also picked up a Pearce +0 (left mag) and a +1 (right) grip extension to give my pinky somewhere to go. It's reasonably comfortable with the stock mag base, but I've got fat fingers so I find it helps.

Based on Spank's review and some other folks, I picked up a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC "Slide" Holster. The open bottom Kydex body allows me to fit both my 22 and 27 without changing anything.

Yes, I gots me some love handles. I just renewed my gym membership and plan on working on that now that finals are over and I've got some free time. h:

This is a REALLY comfortable holster. It just disappears in most situations, and stays right were you put it. The kydex makes for easy reholstering since the holster doesn't collapse, and the leather is pretty comfortable against the skin.

Nice. I have the exact same pieces. Only with the 27 I have +1 extensions for both mags :rick:. I havent fired a bunch of round through my 27 yet but the time I took it to the range it fired like a champ. Not much more kick than the 22 and the extenders work wonders.

The holster I want to get for concealed carry

i've had several glocks & LOVE the "mini glocks" the best

every one i owned have had the pinky rest mag extension you have...you might want to invest in the extended mag release & extended slide release. they both make it easier to do the required task

they also make an extended frame break-down release, but i found with practice, the stock ones are just fine for as little as i broke mine down

I haven't had any problem hitting the slide or mag release doing "tactical reloads," but it's definitely something I need to practice more. If I find I have trouble I'll keep those parts in mind.

You're a lefty, correct? I've tried carrying at 3 o'clock but it's hard to conceal. I'm pretty "straight down" from chest-belly-hip-thigh, so the gun prints pretty badly in 3'oclock. But slightly off center to the strong side of my back the firearm disappears pretty well under my clothing, and the draw is still nice and quick.

Damn, that's a nice find. Honestly, I am a little jealous. That sucker is awesome as a concealed weapon.

Right. My fat helps hide things. I'm sure I'll have to change my style once things straighten out.
