One of my boys a 3 years ago did my stereo install (HU, component front, component back, 2 or 3 amps don't remember, cap, box, 2 subs) in my 2dr teg at the time. There was some custom work that needed to be done too. Gave him a $100 and a pack of cigs. I was there helping him but had no idea what I was doing and was just watching him lol. He had his wife buy us a case of beer.

I remember paying like $150 for a SoundBlaster soundcard in 1994 so that I could hear the laser shots when I played X-Wing or TIE Fighter. Back in the day before most PCs had sound. :eek3:

My parents bought me a Sony boombox in 1993 that had FM/AM, CD, and Tape. I'm sure that cost about $300 at the time.

These are what I remember that our family paid:

Parents paid:
1996: $700 for a 27" Sony Trinitron back then
1996: $400 for a Sony Hi-Fi VCR+
1997: $350 for a Panasonic Hi-Fi VCR+
1997: $600 for a Sony Stacked 5 disc CD/FM/Tape Player with 2 floor standing speakers

I paid:
1997: $1500 for a P1, 100mhz, 16MB Ram, 2GB HDD AST Computer (work $7/hr, $12/day, for the whole summer, cash, to earn $3000)
1997: $600 for a 2X External CD burner when it first came out.
1998: $350 for a Sony 15" Flatscreen CRT Monitor

And now I'm complaining about the $400 PS3 being uber expensive,,....lol..

Too young for this.

I always remember having a fast computer in our house since I was born. My dad ran a bulletin board from our house and he would get computers from work for free or cheap. Still have a couple of them from 93 and 94 in our basement.
My dad also won a 14.4k modem, worth about $500 then.

I don't remember, but both my parents and I don't buy something unless we either need it or have gotten so behind the times we'll get it when it's cheap.
