Default Another Computer Question :(

I'm trying to get stuff off of my moms old hard drive and copy it onto her new computer. I put the old hard drive into the computer but it isn't letting me access the files on her desktop (I can access the other files on the hard drive). I think because she was Admin the security settings keep me out. I tried to boot off of that hard drive but it gives me the BSoD.

How do I get around the security and access the files on her desktop?

You can also try Right Click > Properties > Security and add yourself to the security group for that folder.,

she is. But because I'm not booting off of the old hard drive I think it is keeping me out. The old drive had windows installed and I am trying to access her desktop to get the files off of it.

It wont let me change the security. If I try to access the folder or change it in any way (or copy it) it says "Access Denied"

no, I switched it to slave. If I leave it on master I get the BSoD.
