You need to take ownership from your mother (
h
login as Admin.....
turn off simple file sharing
folder options - View - uncheck use simple file sharing
right click folder/file you want to copy over (or simply the whole drive), properties, security tab, advanced, owner tab, select Administrator

Thanks...that worked Jani. The only thing you left out was that I had to add permision for "EVERYONE".

if you boot into safe mode, you can right click the folder you're locked out of, go to security and make yourself the owner of the folder.
