I think it has 2. But I would like to send the HDMI from the Xbox/HD DVD and Cable box to the receiver for audio, and then pass the video through to the tv.

werd, it is pretty much their current top of the line, the only problem is that their line is a little late for the season and they haven't upgraded to the "X05" series for the HT setups yet [meaning you are missing out on dolby true-HD and real HDMI audio playback]

If you are balla enough get the 605 or 805 receiver with a nice set of speakers

Well, why would I ever watch tv, play xbox, or watch an hd-dvd without the receiver on? o:

Yeah, I'd like to keep it under a grand...and the 605 receiver is basically half that. h:

onkyo 605 is ill. it's what i'm running, but it only has 2 hdmi inputs and no extra input for an amp if you decide to go that route in the future.

if you think you need more hdmi inputs or might do an amp in the future, you might want to look at the onkyo 705, but it's about $100 more.

but for the price of the 605, it's definitely a great receiver.

currently i'm powering 2 polk rti8 and 2 polk rti6 with the receiver. my next purchases will be either a hsu or av123 sub and a polk csi3 center.

you have to be careful with some of the lower end receivers that have HDMI inputs, cuz some of them wont do audio, only video via HDMI and you will have to run coax or optical for the audio

Yeah, I'll definitely be getting one of those non-bunk video only HDMI receivers.
