Buying generic cables is like buying generic medicine ... make sure the ingredients are the same, and you should be good.
+ gold terminals
+ insulation
+ core composite
I'd really go with the monoprice stuff. Give it a shot ... if you like it, you just saved $90+. If you don't like it ... try the monster, but be prepared to see no difference at all.
Because of the mental aspect, the "Monster" brand name + price ... your mind might tell you "there's a difference".

i ordered my center speaker today. i keep forgetting to do some measurements in order to decide what sub to get. i'm going to measure where i'm going to put it tonight and then order the sub either tonight or tomorrow morning. i think i'm probably leaning towards the Hsu STF-1 sub at the moment tho...but if my space is too small for that, it will be the AV123 X-Series sub.
