what new players really? I still think rivera, posada and pettite are coming back. outfield will still be the same Infield same except 3b, pitching wang pettite, hughes chamberlain kennedy, BullPen similar to 07 Manager will be either girardi or Mattingly Girardi played with some of these players so they prolly respect him and mattingly has been torre junior for the past 4 years they will be fine at manager either way (i still wish torre had returned tho)

I can't blame him for taking off.

1. It is about the money. It always is. If someone were to give you a significant pay raise, you'd seek the opportunity.

2. NY hated his ass until this year. Admit it. Every paper and fan torched him after last year's playoff series. This year, the entire city was sack riding because of his multi-homer games and early season heroics.

Oh i agree its about the money but is he honestly going to get more then the 27+ mil per year that he is getting now? And i agree about NY hating him he did not live up to expectations in some aspects (postseason) (not the only one to choke tho) and fans did not take to lightly to it because he was looked at as a hired gun who was going to guarantee a championship in NY when we traded away soriano for him

that ... will be crazy.

If he doesn't get 27M which way will people look at it?

a) a failure? He never got the money and lost out.
b) he didn't like NYC and took a pay cut to get out.

:dunno:

No good playoff team will pay $30mil/yr for this cancer. He'll go somewhere crappy, again.

Majorly I think it will look like that he just didnt like the pressures of NY and decided to go else where. Ultimately it all depends on where he signs tho. If he goes somewhere like boston or the cubs where there will still be immense pressure to win or if he goes somewhere like Florida, SF or Texas where he will just compile stats

He just better not fucking step into Petco Park.

You're already getting paid GOBS of fucking money that someone else could use you greedy SOB. I would seriously do damage to his arms if this is all true.

Postseason choke artist.

Yeah, I said it.

I'd rather have Nick Swisher.

Werd, it's not like their manager is gonna be some shmuck off the street. Giradi and Mattingly both have the respect of the players and they've even played with some of the guys. Mattingly's been working with the Yankees and I believe he'll be the new manager. If so, I think that would be awesome. I grew up watching him in the early 90's and having is own team with players who respect him is gonna be a plus. He's a little more agressive than Torre was, you'll see alot more hit & runs, steal attempts, bunting, etc.....

A-rod leaves then fine, fuck that douche bag cock sucker. They'll have that extra money to pick up some guys that'll are there to actually win and not to be an attention whore. h:
