Default Best AntiVirus?

I used Norton up until about 2 years ago when I switched to TrendMicro PC Cillin because Norton had a conflict with my sound blaster sound card. I liked Norton a lot except it seemed to use up a lot of resources. PC Cillin seems to use slightly less resources but is buggier.

My wifes laptop came with McAfee for free so she has been using that. Well it just expired and I'm trying to figure out what to put on it now. Do I renew McAfee? Put Norton on? Put PC Cillin on? Or something else?

I upgraded her laptop to 2GB of ram but other then that the specs are pretty low. So a small footprint is a big plus.

i love it. i've never had issues with it really. it's always caught my viruses. updates regularly on its own. doesnt seem to be a extreme resource hog.

do a little google research on it. imo its the best out there

Kaspersky or BitDefender both are the best on the market.
