Optical cable hook up

I run a monster hdmi cable from my dvd player to my tv and every now and then I get bad video signal I unplug the cable and replug it and it's all gravy again. Oh well.

that's why I added the bit about quality control. I have a less likely chance to get a defective cable if I buy it from a name I trust. I agree with optical, its optical its optical its optical ya know. Other types of cable I will agree can have a huge difference on how they are made.

straight line doesnt matter... but make sure the cable is not kinked. One fold and the cable is trash.

really, try to find he audio menu and see if your receiver has different digital decoder settings. I know for a fact that my processors do not decode DTS correctly. It will cause static and jitters and pops, while it does everything else correctly.

Ironically, I have no problems with my no-name HDMI cable. Watched DVD's with no problems at all.
