Work situation v. what would you do?
So one of my friends/co-workers just got offered a job as a Director at Nintendo in San Francisco paying a large sum of money, he could bring his dogs to work, has a 50" flat screen TV with a Wii and gamecube, Large office with patio, Nintendo flew him up there, etc..
Now you are thinking why didn't he just say yes!
Enter the wife. She doesn't want to move to the Bay area because she doesn't like it, has no friends and no job. She could easily find a job as she is a teacher and there are LOTS of schools up in the bay area.
He is almost even saying that he moves up there she stays here and visits on the weekend, but that's stressful on the relationship. He disparately needs a job change and who WOULDN'T take an offer like that?
So what would you do if you were in his shoes?
I think it's a tough call.

id move there and take the job if the pay is a substantial increase and the job stress not overwhelming. otherwise, those perks like the tv/games/dogs and other trivial shit are just that. trivial shit. fun shit, but still trivial. if you're making decent money, you can have all of that at home and more and keep the wifey.

If my wife didn't want me to better myself with an opportunity like that then it's time for a "talk". I assume he's paying for most of the shit anyway, she should be glad he's offered an even better job.
h:Women. :shake:
when you're married, you gotta understand that it's more than your decision anymore.
hopefully she'll understand that having "friends" is beyond overrated and that looking out for your life (especially financially) does matter.
