Default lower back soreness

i used to be able to do a pretty fair amt of situps
nowadays after about 30 my lower back starts to get too sore for me to continue
its been like that for a few yrs and at the time i remember it seemed like it happened all of a sudden

any ideas?

Concentrate on using your ab muscles to do the crunches/situps, instead of your back muscles straining for it.

I heard that chronic masturbation causes weakness in your lower back.

Stop jerking it 4 times a day

change your positioning during the situps. example: do 20 or so then move either closer or farther from your feet. i've been doing this lately and i find i can do a whole lot more.

Also, make sure your lower back is touching the floor and not arching up.

do the "good mornings" it's a work out you can do. you have a bar with weights on it and stand on a little box, then bend down at the waist and keep your back straight. go down then back up and repeat several times. it should strengthen your back

you're back is probably hurting b/c you're not working it as much as your abs. you have to work out your complementary muscles as well.

Why stand on a box?

so you can bend down lower and get a larger range of motion.
