Their saving rate just went down from 5.05% to 4.50%.......

uh yeah, discount rate just got lowered.... they arent going to make less money on your money.

when savings rates go down, so do loan rates.

I wonder if this applies to all saving account? Do they go down that much?

I know ING went from 4.5 to 4.3. I didn't expect HSBC direct to hit a 5.05% flat drop?

highly likely. the only fixed savings accts you will find will never pay anywhere near what that one does. HSBC direct's rate is among the best, 4.5% is great, especially given the market conditions.
