Dude, you're seriously a reality check (or should be) for so many people.
Lab, the best advice I can give ya f/ many friends of mine who have ridden for years: Take the class! It'll save your life!
I'll get a bike at some point myself, but I won't even think about it until after i get the cert.

so if that's a lesson for anybody, take it
Not yet, I just emailed the guy last night
I am definately taking the class. The only problem is it's all booked through the end of the year. I am on 3 waiting lists tho. If worse comes to worse there is a company that gives riding lessons. It's actually less expensive then the class but you don't get a certificate or anything so you still have to take the test. Even after that I would still take the class in the spring.

take anything you can. i've been riding for about 30 years & i learned more in the 2 days at the freddie spencer racing school than in all those years....hella expensive, but in the end, it prob saved my life concerning the wreck
There is an opening in the ERC (experienced riders course) in November here in MD. I would have 1.5 months of riding and hopefully would have completed the beginners course by then. Think I should sign up for it or wait until spring?

dude... i would strongly suggest taking the class... i had to wait 4 weeks for mine... well worth it... I cant stress enough how i saw a guy teaching his friend on his own across from the parking lot where i was for my class..
Vrooom and his friend did a superman over the curb...
Friends dont teach friends how to ride.
Theres too many technical things that you do automatically on a bike that you forget to teach your friends
