Xbox One Crew w. big enises ... Halo MCC HYPE THREAD! (est. 2007)
Recon guys. It's just like H3.
Quick thoughts ...
+ Matchmaking is painful when not playing Snipers or SWAT, just like we expected.
+ DMR still doesn't do enough damage. In Slayer Pro, 4 DMR shots, punch, DMR, DMR = me dead. It makes no sense.
+ 1 grenade = insta-death ... fuck that. There was a point where Ruben, Josh, and myself were throwing grenades all towards the end of a match. Just chucking the fuck outta them ... sigh
+ Campaign on Legendary is hard as fuck. I don't know what anyone is saying when blurting out "it's easy". That's bullshit.
+ Can't stand the fact there's no dedicated playlists. If you're a 50 in SWAT, you're going to be a 50 in Slayer because how they're lumped together. That's going to trash the concept of buying a 1mo for fun.

I haven't seen anyone just using the hammer or sword anymore. The active camo armor is useless because as soon as you move it doesn't work anymore.
The DMRs (covenant version included) does take a while to get used to it. The only weapon as powerful at that range is the sniper. The only think is you NEED to head shit body shots are just about useless.
The campaign on legendary alone must be hard as fuck but multi player it's very doable really not as hard as I expected.
I'm happy about ppl not being able to noon kill. That shit is gay and ruined H3 for the players who just wanted to have fun.
L
Maybe I'm used to the speed of the BR, but I just don't have enough time for 7 or 8 headshots with the DMR. Nobody is going to stand around for that long, they just sprint around a corner and disappear.
There's no fucking way a standard Slayer game should take over 12 minutes just to complete. With 0 time left on the clock, both teams couldn't get to 50.
What's noon kill?
Pistol is all I use now - seems to be as powerful and more accurate than DMR.
Havn't been to the Arena yet - but if that is the way it is - that sucks. I'd rather be ranked in every playlist individually. Someone who is wicked at OBJ may suck at Slayer... infact that is often the case.
Ok, here's my josh.blog.
I enjoyed it for the couple of hours I got to play last night. I agree with Drew for the most part, though.
Things I like:
Grenades - Honestly, I kind of like how strong the grenades are now. I mean, they are grenades after all. I got a funny ass double kill from launching 2 grenades off a wall in to the next room.
Swat and Snipers - A lot of fun. The new hologram shit can be irritating but funny, specially in Snipers. I can't count how many times I was unloading on a damn hologram. Swat feels really good. My first game of Swat with Robert, I got an Overkill/Exterm. 4 guys, 4 shots, in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds. The DMR really feels bad ass in Swat where it actually kills people.
Campaign - It is very hard on Legendary, but still fun. I know if we were playing on Heroic, it would be quite a bit MORE fun, but I hate playing games on anything but the hardest difficulty. I think they did a good job with the Campaign, and am excited to beat the game.
Things I really don't like:
DMR in Slayer - The constant squeezing of the trigger for the DMR to only get off 1 shot per squeeze sucks. Specially since it pretty much does no damage per shot. I think I am just missing the BR too much. Hopefully I can get used to it. If you can nail 4 or 5 head-shots, the enemy will die rather quick. But if they are not coming right at you, it's near impossible to get the kill without either a melee, switching weapons, or frantically throwing grenades. You would think that being this far in the future, we would have some stronger bullets. IMMBR
Running - The sounds alone are irritating as hell. I feel like I am walking my dog. And the Spartans have the stamina of a 60 year old smoker.
Jet-packs - I don't like them. At all. There's a map that is just like floating in the sky, and people were constantly jumping off and then flying back up somewhere else. It was irritating. Maybe just because I was getting raped, I don't know.
h:
Game Types - I HATE that you can't choose different game types. Though, I am pretty sure they will add these in the future (how they did with swat and snipers on H3). To me, it seems like the regular matchmaking is like Social in H3, and the more advanced shit will come later (MLG, Snipers, Swat).
Robert and I got raped pretty bad on a couple games last night. But it wasn't nearly as frustrating as it was on the beta. I wasn't constantly getting killed by the shotgun or sword. Most of my deaths were just because I suck, and was having a hard time getting used to the different game play.
So, on that note...Who's going to be on tonight?

noob bashing is what i wanted to say.
I definitively agree that this is a different game. the physics are different.
I palyed a shit load of arena yesterday the DMR is quite deadly I cannot remember hitting 7-8 headshots without a death. Maybe a little more team work is needed but I'm sure we'll get used to it :dunno:

So far the Halo Xbox franchise has reportedly pulled in impressive revenues of around $2bn and while Halo 3 sold over 8m copies and collected $300m in its first week on sale, Halo: Reach is on course to smash its predecessors' record.
IT Portal reported Halo: Reach has broken the record for the largest number of Xbox Live users playing it at the same time, which isn't bad as the news was announced just over one day since the game's launch. The record was last held by Modern Warfare 2 with more than 2m people playing simultaneously at some point in November 2009.
Predictably, Halo: Reach has topped the UK's gaming charts but it is also believed that the game is also making Microsoft extra money as people are forking out for Xbox Live credits and the console itself.
Analysts told The FT they expect subscriptions to the Xbox Live Gold service to soar, while limited edition hardware like controllers could cash in on the launch too.
Anita Frazier, an analyst at NPD told the newspaper: "If hardware sales react in a similar fashion to what was experienced when Halo 3 was launched in September 2007, September could be a huge sales month for Xbox 360 hardware."
However, Halo: Reach has got some catching up to do as the Call of Duty franchise is the most popular first person shooter and is set to consolidate its lead when Call of Duty: Black Ops is unleashed across all consoles in November, unlike Halo which is exclusive to the Xbox 360.
