I wouldn't wait just for the fact that people tend to not know what they have until its gone. If you told them relatively soon they could tell you everything they wanted and spend the valuable time with you that otherwise they might have put off.

I doubt you'd want to hold all that pain inside... especially if you are young. You could seek refuge and counsel in your own family.

I would not let them know, not even on my death bed. WIth my remaining time, I would make sure my son and my wife would never have to work again.

I just wouldn't want them to coddle me so I would probably tell them near the end. I thought about this the other day...I would go balls out and have the time of my life and when I was just about to go I would ride on the motorcycle alone and end it then. I could never die in a bed...

To live for the rest of their life... it needs to be several million if living modestly and investing wisely. Chances are he wont normally have that much insurance "just incase" and once you have found you have a terminal illness GOOD LUCK getting coverage like that. It won't happen.

And if its a legal way... why not do that now for a year and all of you could live off it forever. It has to be illegal and you dont care because you are dead anyways.

If it's illegal and you die, chances are you will be found out and the money will be taken away from the family.

There are some super high premium policies that won't pass on you if you're ill. You might not be able to afford it for long, but if you get it and die (so they can't prove was on purpose) than maybe that would work...I lost all interest as I was typing that.

Let's just say it would not be a legal way. But they would have plenty to live on for life without work. The risk is too great to jepordize my life when I don't know what the future holds.
