dont know about the hp. but i've got inspiron 6000. its ok but freeses a lot, starts up slow and takes even longer to shut down. they said thats normal. WTF?

but i bought a four year unconditional warranty on it. so i get parts replaced for free, but the only bad thing is that i have to ship it in.

right now i'm having hardware problems, like my earphone connection is messed up, my power connector is loose. my screen is messing from edges, i mean it looks like strech marks.

they've replaced my touchpad, before and yeah, the first day i got my laptop. it CRASHED completely and they coudn't figure out why so they sent me a new one w/ DVD burner! how sweet was that.

but overall i'd recomend it as long as you get the warranty on it

don't care about quality when the full service fixes everything for free.
