HDTV Crew...question
Hey, So i decided to actually watch TV for the first time on my TV since i got it in november. It's a 32 Westy LCD that i got on Black Friday. I dont have a digital cable box cus i have no real use for it.
Before i would watch TV through my PC with the TV Tuner card i put in, I had access to all my cable channels and what not. For some reason now, when i put the coaxial cable into my TV itself, i dont get all my channels, in reality i get about 1/10th of the channels i'm suppose to get. I do a scan for all channels and the TV still doesn't pick them up. This is the TV i have. Westinghouse 3213

i'll give that a try when i get home. Now what does it mean when people say that they dont want a TV without a tuner. The gf is getting a tv for her apt. (http://store.viewsonic.com/html/ibeC...=b&item=741675)
and i just want to make sure that if she plugs the coax cable in her TV, i know it wont be GREAT looking but she'd at least get all the channels as well.

The GF just got this yesterday. After hooking and programming it up ... over a standard coax cable, it picked up HD channels.
In Chicago, NBC is CH5. It picked up:
5-0: NBC standard broadcast
5-1: NBC HD Broadcast
5-2: NBC Weather
etc
It's awesome.
that price ain't bad ... but I don't think that one has a TV tuner in it.

h:Some TV's have a coax input. That's all it is. The TV tuner (what receives the channels) would have to come out of a cable box or VCR ... something that has a tuner in it. No integrated HD here.
Some TV's have a coax input with TV tuner. Well ... you can hook up a cable line and not need a cable box or VCR for channels. No integrated HD here.
some TV's have a coax input with HDTV tuner. That's the one that allows HD channels over a standard cable line. No HD cable box needed.
