Default 2.4L sensor, need help (04 element)

also posted this in the suv/van (element) forums but i dont expect much for traffic in there so posting it here as well...

okay so i was changing my oil on my 04 element today (auto trans).... got underneath to loosen the filter and i noticed there was a blue thing hanging down. turns out that there is a broken sensor right above my oil filter hnoes: im not sure if i broke it trying to loosen the filter from the top or what but regardless i need to fix it.

not sure exactly what it is, i took the car for a ride after letting it warm up after i was all finished with the oil change.... no codes or anything none the less, this is the car that my wife drives and she is out of town mon-fri every week, i dont want to worry taht she will be stranded.

can anybody ID this sensor for me? it is right above the oil filter, you cant really see it from above and it has a blue rubber boot on it. any help is appreciated!

Could be the oil pressure sensor? Is it on the oil pump? How many wires are on it?

eh... dammit i thought i came prepared... my wife just left to the store real quick with it. the wires were together in heat shrink stuff so i dont know if its 1/2/3 wires... it isnt on the pump, it is screwed into the back of the block. if you were to look underneath the car and locate the oil filter, it is right above it a few inches. blue rubber dust boot over the top of it.

I'd ask on k20a.org you'll have better luck there. How about a picture of it when you get back? Is it on the passenger side right?

If it there is 2 wires and they are yellow and red it's your oil pressure sensor.

okay, its one wire and it is red/yellow

here are the 2 pics i was able to snap....

keep in mind, there is no easy way for me to get a perfect shot between the drive axles and frame rails etc... h:

just above the filter and slighty to the right

this is the boot, it was kinda hard to get that shot cuz its hot in there h: and the wire is short....
