I go to an independent place. They have a big selection and aren't afraid to buy frames from lesser-known designers. Really neat. Good service.

there aren't many stores around here.. This lenscrafters used to be decent
:edit2:
and they took my prescription
Must be a regional thing; the buyers for your store suck.
And it sounds like the staff isn't all that great either.
Go back, get your prescription back and take your business elsewhere.

I've bought my last 3 pairs at Lenscrafters without any of the bullshit you speak of. Granted, my prescription is probably less radical than yours... but still, shop around a bit.

I'm pretty sure they sent the prescription to the lab, I'm going back now to get it, If I don't see any frames there I like I'm taking off.

Best of luck.. and if all else fails, the optometrist ought to be able to write a duplicate prescription. Personally, I wouldn't reward a shop that can't train its employees properly.

Damn, no glasses for 2 weeks? That would be horrible.

I also have a bad astigmatism. I have been using Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism for over a year now. They work great.

Yeah I'm getting soft Torics, I had them before and they worked really well.

Every once and a while they'd rotate and fuck with me, but overall that was maybe once every month and fixed by closing my eye and rotating.

I also have astigmatism and I heard about the AA contacts but wasn't sure if they work for us with astigmatism....
