roth 401 > 401

paying tax only on what you invest > paying tax on what you invest and what you earn

The MINIMUM you should ever put in is whatever the company will match. If they give you 3% match, that is like a 3% raise that you can't spend.... Currently, I only put in 3%, but being young, I do an aggressive portfolio and its working pretty well.

Employer just started up the Roth 401K. Good times.
I put in what my employer matches, 4%. +$50 per month to Roth IRA.

I set mine up forever ago so its hard to remember my %.........I think I put in 5% and the company matches 100% of the first 3% I put in, and 50% of the next 2%. So basically, I put in 5% and the company matches 4%....?? :dunno: I'm not very financial-savvy....

I would put in more, but I'll do that once I'm actually into my career - this is just a job and I need the $$ to pay mortgage, utilities, tuition, etc. :wtc:
