I took out my 0 gauges, which is a little larger than a bic pen, almost 8 years ago and they never really closed that much. I'd say they are stuck at about an 8 gauge now

Once you get to 2g, you may hit the point of no return. I think its at 0 for most people. After you hit that, it will only go down a few sizes and thats it.
