the guys in networking recovered a bunch of hard drives that were in the "clocktower" fire in town. they were burned and soaked, only got one that wouldnt work for them.

Its amazing what they can go through.
I'm sure if you tried hard enough you could get that other one to work, at least a little bit.

I think you mistaken what i meant.
I mean if for some reason you cant boot the computer, you can boot it as a drive, back up everything, then reinstall.
I've done that before. The reason was that I have a corrupted sector on my HD.
so I hooked up my laptop to a computer, booted it as a drive, backed up everything onto my external. reinstalled the OS. and everything worked after that

I understand what you mean.
And I'm saying, I could either figure out a way to do that, or buy a 7 dollar laptop external case and put the hard drive into that.

The only thing gayer than macs are subarus, so this is fitting.

I can appreciate somethings about them. I try not to be biased. I probably will never own one because they're too expensive and everything that they're good for, I can do it just fine on a cheaper machine.
