You don't need anything fancy to have a good time fishing and you're probably not going to be angling anything too extreme. You can get a couple poles and some cheap tackle for under $40. I went a couple weeks ago with my girl to a pond and we caught a few sunfish. It was nice and relaxing. The only part that sucked was the enormous horseflies that started harassing us when we took a walk.

I remember quite a few years ago I casted out at that same pond and was reeling in real slow and it all of a sudden became really hard to reel in. I thought I got snagged on something but the line was still gradually coming in. As it got closer I could see it bobbing to the top of the water and I figured it was a piece of wood or something. When it got near the shore it popped up again, it was a turtle shell about 8 inches wide. I was like "Holy chit!" and I tried to reel him in faster and the line broke off. Poor turtle, prolly has the hook in his mouf still after all these years :wtc:

So when we went for that walk across this bridge we saw a turtle and it reminded me of that experience. This turtle was about twice the size though, and he seemed just as interested in us as we were in him. I wonder if it was the same one h:

i think you can some cheap ones from wal-mart.

i went fishing a couple of times. it can be pretty fun but i'm not a big fan of killing the poor things so we always throw them back.
