just listen to me and get a cheap dell. it will save you money in the long run or just suck it up and get a nicer laptop later on.

generally I would agree but the cheap dells are the worst.

The motherboards have absoloutely no upgrade potential, sometimes theres a free PCI slot or a PCI-E 1x slot, but thats usually the most you get.

My computer is a heaping pile of shit. But for what I use it for, it's fine. It's 2-3 years old and has never seen a reformat, it's about due. :hs:

"oh it's not a core 2" you know what? go suck a dick. Really, the core 2 duo's are faster, sure but the AMD ones come close enough in speed and are a ton cheaper.

You sit someone down with an AMD X2 4000 and a low end core 2 duo and they use the internet and email, neither cpu will even feel the breeze. 90% of people won't need anything more than that.

I highly suggest getting one of the last dimension desktops:

http://www.dell.com/content/products...=19&l=en&s=dhs

dimension 531 with all of above except: 4400+, 19"LCD, ATI-X1300 instead of Nv-7300, priced to $649 with code "6JHJWDHQ85D?BX"
