I was thinking about looking into the Virgin Islands, but we're going to be going on a cruise Spring 2009 for my graduation and I think we'll be visiting those islands for the cruise.

Personally one for the most beautiful yet affordable cities I have seen is Prague. It's just a beautiful city, the people are friendly and it's pretty cheap. I am not sure about spending more then 4 days there’s though because it is a little small and you risk running out of things to do, but then again it's just fun to get a drink in the main square and just admire the beauty of the city.

If you absolutely want the beach check out trip to Tunisia, here you will be able to mix beach with history. If you have 10 days stay 5 days in Tunis the capital and visit around there. You can visit old roman ruins (City Cartage) enjoy a nice coffee in a beautiful cafe on top of a mountain over looking the Mediterranean see (Sidi Bou Saïd). Then you go in the south of the country and enjoy the beach and the resorts. Tunisia is cheap, very safe. Just to give you and idea of how it looks here are some pics i took.
