Honeymoon v.Suggestions?
how long are you guys planning on going. We also hit up Santorini, which I thought was the most breathtaking. If you can squeeze in a couple islands it makes the trip amazing. This was the view from our hotel in Santorini. The hotel used to be a wine preserve store house, and it is carved into the cliff side. Each room is unique. They also have an inifiti pool right on the edge of the cliff at the center of the hotel...it's out of control.

My wife and I went to Playa Del Carmen (it's about 25 minutes south of Cancun and is 100 times better). There is tons to do in Playa...the beaches are great (they look better than a Corona commercial)...Mayan ruins are only 30 minutes away (Tulum)...there is a great place called Xel Ha that has snorkling, scuba, swimming with dolphins and a hammock beach. Then from Playa you can take a 20 minute ferry ride to Cozumel. There is tons to do there too. And if you wanted you can go up to Cancun and hit some of the bars and clubs too. I think Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel are much more romantic tho.
I think it would be perfect because you don't have the hassle of a cruise but you have freedom of 3 different places.
When we were in Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, and Cancun they didn't have any of the typical problems that you always hear about in mexico (people pushing you to buy shit and it being dirty). The only down side is you can't drink the water but everywhere has bottled anyway. My wife and I are definitely planning on going back as soon as we can
