Michaels Moore's Sicko
But people with relatively good healthcare still battle with their providers over coverage.
work hard - > make too little money - > fnd another job.
i go to work everyday and do what i do so that i can have a better standard of living, not so that i can provide more to those who dont/wont take care of it themselves.
the liberals idea of perfect healthcare discourages hardworking americans from staying at work for those extra 10+ hours a week, from picking up that 2nd job to better thier family, from paying for advanced education to make themselves more marketable (yes some people have to pay for their own education and other peoples, too)
get a job and pay for your healthcare, millions of americans do it every day. and i for one can say that it isnt cheap, i put down $130/2 weeks so that if something happens to me, i have mediocre coverage.
and on a sidenote to, MFB, nice job listing what maybe 10 people that tend toward the right. there isnt enough time in the day for me to list the loud mouthed liberal celebs who are trying to save the world. and i could list 10 more media outlets that provide balance in the news world against fox news. CNN, NBC, CBS just to name 3 majors. sounds like a fair fight.
Yuppers. Right wing or left, Micheal Moore's "documentaries" are what they are. Shamefully biased opinionated propaganda. Does he have a constitutional right to that? Yes. Is it a documentary? No
I like how my post about healthcare got but 1 reply and the one about celebrities got several more. Not every person who identifies as liberal wants universal healthcare. In fact, I want a system that was put in place by a guy running for president as a republican. On matters of economics I do tend to be a bit of an elitist though.
The biggest single factor in wasting money of the people who pay a lot of taxes on poor people who don't have health insurance is hospital emergency room care that goes unpaid. People without insurance know that an emergency room wil not turn them away so that's where they go. Spend a little bit of money on the front end to decrease the number of uninsured, they stop going in to emergency rooms they know full well they can't pay for, and the costs on the back end to taxpayers goes down dramatically.
In MA you can still get premium healthcare however there are assorted measures in place that work to significantly reduce the number of uninsured. The state provides a health plan to people who have no other option, and otherwise requires employers to make contributions towards getting their employees insured.
So, while those folks with a moral aversion to any sort of "income redistribution" might still not like this approach, I like it because it manages to balance the suposedly competing (if one ignores the aforementioned emergency room cost issue) goals of reducing taxpayer spending on uninsured, and also decreasing the overall number of uninsured.

Too many people are on his nut sack, but I've been left unimpressed by his "documentaries"
although, I have to laugh... I remember hearing about a group of people doing a documentary on moore and how he was elusive, annoyed, and I believe he either threatened lawsuit or did try to sue them. :chuckles:
Nobody cares

This movie isn't about Michael Moore and too make himslef popular..He was interviewed on a radio station here in NYC and he said he originally was going to make this film for people who had no health insurance but ended up getting more horror stories from people who had health insurance and were being denied healthcare? How is Michael Moore being an ass by saying everybody deserves free healthcare? He took one 9/11 worker who was denied treatment here in the United States and she got all her healthcare done at Cuba and it was for free too...doesn't that say something about our healthcare system? i'm not trying to defend michael moore here but out of everyone in the united states at least he is letting the people know how our Health Insurance companies care more about fattening their wallets then helping people..My mom just recently had a surgery for 2 anurisms behind her eye..my dad drives a bus for a living and my mother works at a high school for the NYC Board of Ed...they both have full health insurance and yet they denied my mother to pay for her surgery..My parents pay their bill's and taxes and pay their health insurance as well and were denied this and left with the bill for the surgery...but hey the U.S. health system is great because whoever denied that claim just saved that company over 10k...didnt know my mom's life was only worth so much money to the insurance companies.....
